Our Outreach Mission is to extend our culture and values of love and compassion outside the walls of our church for the betterment of our community. Our strategy is to encourage the young, the elderly, and those in need of God’s love and understanding.

Glen Alpine Food Pantry

The Glen Alpine Food Pantry a collaborative mission of seven local Glen Alpine churches to provide food the needy in Glen Alpine and Western Burke County. It is located in the Glen Alpine United Methodist Church, 410 Linville St., with entrance off of Pea Ridge Rd.

We care about you and your family!

Our contributing churches include Glen Alpine United Methodist, First Baptist of Glen Alpine, Gibbs Chapel, Praise Assembly, Faith Missionary Baptist Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal at Lake James and CrossLink in Carbon City.

Donations of non-perishable foods are always accepted as well as your fresh garden vegetables and fruits. We are always glad to welcome volunteers to help in the Food Pantry itself as well as helping to take up collections of non-perishable food and/or toiletry items at your church or workplace to meet the needs of those in the community.

Call Phyllis for information how you can join with other St. Paul’s members as they help at 704-763-1970 or email her at

Burke United Christian Ministries (BUCM)

SOUP KITCHEN - The St Paul’s Soup Kitchen Team has volunteered in the past at the BUMC Soup Kitchen on the 5th Thursdays of the year.
As of April 2020 the Soup Kitchen Teams will NO LONGER BE NEEDED AT BUCM to prep meals and serve clients.  We will continue to use our in house “catering team’ to prepare all of the needed meals for the foreseeable future.  The staff, along with a few Board Members, will plate and hand out both the lunch and dinner meals to our needy and homeless population.

In support of Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, if you or your family can benefit from the services provided by Burke Hospice, including Palliative and Bereavement services please contact the church.

Since 2004, the Meeting Place Mission has been serving the homeless, providing emergency shelter and transitioning individuals and families in permanent housing and safety in Burke County.

The Meeting Place is not a traditional homeless shelter so much as a series of programs designed to give people the best opportunity to end their homelessness and live independently.
