Prayers-

Congregation, Family & Friends

At St Paul's we are a church who has committed to Jesus and to each other for the long-haul, to keep on running the race set before us and to stay awake, alert with Jesus while we pray without ceasing for each other.

A Prayer for the Power of the Spirit Among the People of God

God of all power and love,we give thanks for your unfailing presence and the hope you provide in times of uncertainty and loss. Send your Holy Spirit to enkindle in us your holy fire.Revive us to live as Christ’s body in the world:a people who pray, worship, learn, break bread, share life, heal neighbors, bear good news, seek justice, rest and grow in the Spirit.Wherever and however we gather, unite us in common prayer and send us in common mission, that we and the whole creation might be restored and renewed, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

- A new collect, composed by a team of Episcopalians and Lutherans. Written “to unite us in common prayer and revive us for common mission” during this crisis in the spirit of Pentecost, Bishop Curry and his Lutheran counterpart, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, invite congregations to pray it from Pentecost through the first Sunday in September. In addition to expressing a shared desire for renewal in a troubling time, the collect also commemorates nearly 20 years of full communion between The Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

"Almighty and ever living God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayers for this parish family. Strengthen the faithful, arouse the careless, and restore the penitent. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord." Amen. - Book of Common Prayer p.817

Worship

The Daughters of the King

Daughters of the King is an order for lay women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church and churches in communion with it.  Daughters of the King follow a Rule of Life, a discipline or pattern of activities designed to embody and focus on relationship with God. The Rule of Life includes prayer, study and action (service).  St. Paul’s has received the charter for The Mary Magdalene Chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King.  On Sunday June 9, 2019 Reverend Margaret Ashby, Rector at St Paul’s officiated the Charter Service that included an installation ceremony for new members of the Chapter.

Daily Readings and References

The Episcopal daily readings expand worship and personal devotion by providing daily citations for the full three-year cycle of the Revised Common Lectionary. These readings complement the Sunday and festival readings: Thursday through Saturday readings help prepare the reader for the Sunday ahead; Monday through Wednesday readings help the reader reflect on and digest what they heard in worship.  Note that for the Sunday readings, we will be using the second set of readings listed.
