Burke United Christian Ministries (BUCM) Soup Kitchen
· Work in the Soup kitchen is going VERY WELL. Hot meals are prepared for the homeless and needy five days/week (not weekends). I addition, we are passing out a “to go dinner” (typically sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, pizza, etc.) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and a “double” on Fridays for the weekend.
· Soup Kitchen Teams will continue to NO LONGER BE NEEDED AT BUCM to prep meals of serve clients. We will continue to use our “catering team’ to prepare all of the needed meals for the foreseeable future.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night (when the power in Morganton goes out) stays these couriers (BUCM Soup Team) from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" (and serving up 80!! meals in the DARK)
A big thanks and shout out to Paul, Vera, Dave,Phil and Connie that provided St Paul's assistance at BUCM on October 29, 2020.
