Burke United Christian Ministries (BUCM) Soup Kitchen

· Work in the Soup kitchen is going VERY WELL. Hot meals are prepared for the homeless and needy five days/week (not weekends).  I addition, we are passing out a “to go dinner” (typically sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, pizza, etc.) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and a “double” on Fridays for the weekend.

· Soup Kitchen Teams will continue to NO LONGER BE NEEDED AT BUCM to prep meals of serve clients.  We will continue to use our “catering team’ to prepare all of the needed meals for the foreseeable future.

Hence, NO SOUP KITCHEN DUTY is needed from St Paul’s on April 30th.

 · Elizabeth @ BUCM put out a “Volunteer’s Newsletter” Here are the  “Top 10 Items” needed in the in the BUCM Pantry: [Canned Soup, Canned Pasta, Green Beans, Canned Meat, Poptarts, Cereal, Canned Fruit, Mac  n Cheese, Whole Potatoes, Peanut Butter]

Please if you can help out in any small way, that it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

· There is a box outside in front of the Parish Hall main door marked “BUCM Pantry Food.”  You can run by the church any time and drop off your donation there.  I will monitor the box, and take your Pantry Food donations over to BUCM on a regular basis.
