Directions

From Interstate 40 (East and West):  Drive to Exit 94 "Dysartsville Road."  If you are coming from the East (Morganton, Hickory, Charlotte, etc.), take a right at the end of the exit ramp onto Dysartsville Road.  If you are coming from the West (Marion, Asheville, etc.), take a left at the end of the exit ramp onto Dysartsville Road.

Follow Dysartsville Road for approximately 1/2 mile until it ends into US Highway 70.  Take a left onto US 70.  Follow US 70 for approximately 2 miles until you see Bridgewater Road on your right (across from a convenience store - if you enter McDowell County on US 70, you've gone too far).  Take a right onto Bridgewater road and follow it for approximately 4 miles.  The road is curvy and eventually takes the name of "North Powerhouse Road."  You will cross three dams which will each give you picturesque views of Lake James.  About 1 mile after the third dam, you will see St. Paul's church on your right.
